Anthem of Panathinaikos was created in the late 50s. Giorgos Mouzakis was the composer and Giorgos Oikonomidis wrote the lyrics. The anthem was created after a winning match versus Apolonas. When the two men went out from Alexandra's Stadium Giorgos Ikonomidis improvised the beginning of the anthem and Giorgos Mouzakis wrote down some notes in a packet of Keranis Cigarettes. When the two men went to studio Yannis Vogiatzis sung the anthem. The whistle in the beginning and the end of the sonf is from "The Bridge of the river Kwai"
